Anagnorisis
Anagnorisis (Ancient Greek: ἀναγνώρισις) is a moment in a play or other work when a character makes a critical discovery. Anagnorisis was the hero’s sudden awareness of a real situation, the realisation of things as they stood, and finally, the hero’s insight into a relationship with an often antagonistic character in Aristotelian tragedy.
Or/and: insight, realizations, consciousness, awareness, etc. about ourselves…
In his Poetics, as part of his discussion of peripeteia, Aristotle defined anagnorisis as «a change from ignorance to knowledge».
It is often discussed along with Aristotle’s concept of catharsis.
“Anagnorisis” features Anthi Psomiadou’s writings, always centered on the most interesting creature on earth; the human being.
Behaviour, Relationships, and Self-awareness are a few of her writings’ core topics.
Seeing self and non-self directly, facing Reality, truly enjoying life.
Anthi Psomiadou is a Greek Mental Health Counselor, Life Coach, Podcaster, and Writer.
She often refers to readers and listeners as “fellow travellers”.
